Actions
Search for “MaxTo” in the Shortcuts app’s action library to find these:
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Resize Window | Opens the resize grid for the focused window. |
| Fit Window to Grid | Snaps the focused window to the closest grid cells. |
| Recall Window Position | Moves the focused window back to its remembered position. |
| Remember Window Position | Remembers where the focused window is now as the position for its app. |
| Recall All Windows | Moves every window with a remembered position back into place. |
| Open Settings | Opens the Settings window. |
The actions take no input and return nothing. Resize Window, Fit Window to Grid, Recall Window Position and Remember Window Position act on the window that has focus at the moment the action runs. Recall Window Position just beeps if that window’s app has no remembered position.
The actions do exactly what the matching keyboard shortcuts and menu commands do. That includes the same rules: while the trial has ended and there’s no license, they open the License page instead, and they need Accessibility access like the rest of MaxTo.
Where to run them
Once an action is in a shortcut, you can run that shortcut from anywhere macOS runs shortcuts:
- Spotlight — type the shortcut’s name.
- Raycast and other launchers that can run shortcuts.
- The menu bar — pin the shortcut in the Shortcuts app’s details.
- Terminal —
shortcuts run "Name of your shortcut".
That makes the actions useful for things a single keyboard shortcut can’t do, such as chaining Recall All Windows after a step that opens your work apps.
