- Each display's grid has the rows and columns that fit your windows — a 16:9 monitor keeps the 4 × 7 default; an ultrawide, small, or portrait monitor gets its own.
Open the Displays page
- Open Settings → Displays.
- Pick the display you want to configure from the list.
- Adjust the Rows and Columns controls.
The change applies the next time you open the resize overlay on that display.
Why won’t it go higher?
MaxTo caps the maximum rows and columns based on two things: the display’s aspect ratio and a minimum cell size. A 1920 × 1080 monitor, for example, can’t have hundreds of columns — each cell would be too small to be useful. The maximum value updates as you change the other axis.
