Snap your first window

Open a window, press one shortcut, drag a region, release. That's MaxTo.

Open the resize overlay

Focus the window you want to move, then press Win + Alt + Space. A translucent overlay covers the window’s monitor, drawn as a grid of cells. The default grid is four rows by seven columns.

Wrong monitor? The overlay opens on the focused window's display. If it appeared on the wrong monitor, click on a window on the correct monitor first, then press the shortcut again.

Drag a region

Click and drag across the grid to outline the rectangle you want the window to fill. The window resizes live as you drag, so you can preview the fit before committing.

A drag selects every cell from where you press to where you release. Two cells wide and three cells tall is fine; so is one cell or the whole grid.

Release to snap

Let go of the mouse. The overlay closes and the window stays at the rectangle you drew.

If you change your mind mid-drag, press Esc to dismiss the overlay without moving the window.
