MaxTo installed and waiting in the tray.

Before you start

Windows 10 (64-bit) or later. The .NET 10 runtime ships inside the installer; nothing else has to be installed first.

Download and install

Open the download page and grab the installer.
Double-click the file you downloaded. The installer is per-user, so Windows will not prompt for administrator credentials.
Wait for the installer to finish. It is small and quick.

Other ways to install

Portable zip. The download page also offers a portable zip for every release. Unpack it anywhere — a USB stick works — and run MaxTo.exe. Nothing is installed, and nothing needs administrator rights. Portable copies don’t update themselves; you update by unpacking a newer zip over the old one.

Scoop. MaxTo is in the Extras bucket:

scoop bucket add extras
scoop install maxto

Scoop manages updates for you (scoop update maxto). MaxTo’s Start with Windows understands Scoop’s versioned install directories, so autostart keeps working across updates.

First launch

When MaxTo starts for the first time, a splash screen appears briefly while the app initializes. The Settings window opens automatically once it’s ready, and MaxTo continues running in the background after you close it.

You’re ready to snap your first window.
