- Goal
- MaxTo speaks your language and starts with Windows — or doesn't, if you'd rather launch it yourself.
Choose a display language
MaxTo defaults to autodetecting the language from Windows. To override, open Settings → General and pick a language from the dropdown.
The list shows whichever languages ship in the build you’re running. If you don’t see your language, that one isn’t translated yet — set it to “auto” and MaxTo will fall back to English until your language is available.
Your chosen language is applied at startup, before any UI is shown — the tray menu speaks your language from the first launch after you set it.
Run at startup
The same page has a Start with Windows toggle. It’s on by default: MaxTo launches when you sign in and waits in the tray.
Turning the toggle off only stops the launch-at-login. MaxTo stays installed; you can always start it from the Start menu or the desktop shortcut.
If you installed with Scoop, autostart survives updates: MaxTo registers Scoop’s stable path rather than the versioned directory that scoop update replaces.
